COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS TEAM

Rev Aaron Veart, Team Leader

COVID
For another year, the communications and events team were on the frontline of the Association communication and engagement around COVID-19 and our response. This included many updates across many channels and a constant pivoting of events in alignment with the everchanging Government regulations.

ASSEMBLIES
Several assemblies including a Special Assembly and a combined Annual Assembly & The Gathering were undertaken this year with some of the highest participation rates and engagement seen at assemblies. These events were made more accessible through the continuation of our dedicated remote venue strategy allowing excellent engagement across up to 8 different locations throughout the state and territory.

CONTACT MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
All internal processes were translated and built into a single database system establishing a platform that will improve the level of service that the Association provides and the improvement of almost all processes within the organisation including real time CMD activity submission for Accredited and recognised ministers and website integration. This also represented an overhaul of the email and communications systems of the Associations with the fruit of this to be seen in 2022.

SOCIAL MEDIA
This year we continued building our online community for pastors and leaders through our Facebook Group, with 265 leaders from across our movement sharing resources, providing encouragement, and receiving important updates from Association staff.

EVENTS, EQUIPPING AND TRAINING
We hosted several different types of online gatherings from Prayer Meetings (for NSW & ACT as well as Australian Baptists) to our monthly leadership forum – Insights, to the suite of events we pivoted online including FORM, Leadership Conversations, State Youth Camp & BYM State Conference.

We continued to build our monthly Pastors and leaders eNews Insights: News as a key information tool for leaders across our movement. As well as continuing to share stories from all around NSW & the ACT through OurStory – over 12,000 individual people read one or more OurStory articles in 2021.

ONLINE PROCESS DEVELOPMENT
We helped facilitate the online purchasing process for over 250 churches as they renewed their CCLI using our bulk purchasing discount. We also assisted 53 aspiring Baptist Ministers as they continued submitting applications and attending interviews for Accreditation and Recognition.

Additionally, we undertook a Church Survey, building the new SRE Online Learning system, State Youth Camp Merchandise and creating the 40 Days of Prayer resources.
